Hakim Albasrawy (loosely translated it's Hakim from Basrah - a town in Iraq) is cofounder and CEO rightideasleft sdn bhd a KL based startup that works hard at making simple solutions to usually overlooked problems.
Currently focused on 3 main things, he splits his time between thisisbinding, a student thesis binding platform; his work with unreason, a not for profit movement aimed at making things work better in this world; also spending time on sharing what he has picked up at ideashare
Some know him as bouncy - cause he gets quite excited when conversing about new ideas and such. Always good for a laugh and to catch up for a mamak session. Can often be spotted at urekalabs buried in his laptop.

OMG - the cleaner lady didnt make an appearance last week and the office reeks. looks like little old me has to go and get the trash dumped - it was pretty rank after the weekend all alone in the office. well good to know the garbage crew is working so got that sorted out.
on a separate note - anyone looking to hang out at solaris this coming week be warned that the powers that be are closing roads.

Urbanscapes was awesome. Got there at about 2pm and stayed all the way till 11pm. Met a bunch of old friends and a bunch more new ones. The music was off the hook and the beer was all you needed to combat the heat. At one point it looked like it was going to rain ( but being the perfect day that it was – the clouds didn’t spill even a drop) which was awesome.
There was so much stuff to look at, buy, play with, that I would do any of it justice trying to explain. So I’m just going to recant the 5 best moments I experienced, in no particular order.
#1 box of ideas
My first purchase of the day I think (other than the beer that is) simply the plan was to get a bunch of people’s ideas together – in the form of cards and box em up, sell em out and see what happens. Conversation and more ideas ensue. These ideas were so cool that I believe they manage to get all their stuff snapped up in the first 2 hours ( good thing I came early). If you missed your chance to check out the cool – join the facebook group and be part of the party. I hvnt opened my box yet – sort of keeping special for the time being.

#2 chicyamada beauties

Wasn’t too expensive, super duper refreshing and lots of it to go around. Kudos to the guys at Tiger for allowing us to swap warm beer for ice cold goodness!

Line of the day – I have a rule, if I’ve just met someone I have to take a picture with them. Which is awesome Urbanscapes everyday !
#6 the art pieces and decoration
Well I lied – there were more than 5 moments. Since there are plenty more im just going to make a statement and say this is the 6th out of 5 awesome things at Urbanscapes 2009.
All in all – probably the best damn Saturday this year.
